Mario
Alonso, Ph.D is a clinical and consulting psychologist who
has been working with individuals, families, and organizations
for over twenty years. As a business owner and through his
consulting work he knows firsthand about the difficulties
and potential conflicts found in the workplace.
As a practicing clinician he saw how the personal lives
of the patients he was treating were significantly affected
by stressful situations at work. Conversely, an employee's
productivity suffered from home and family stress seeping
into the workday. It didn't matter whether the employee
was a blue collar individual working on the assembly line,
a middle level executive feeling caught between his supervisees
and top management, or a CEO making decisions affecting
thousands of lives. In every case emotions affect behavior
and impact on productivity, performance, and profitability.
Dr.
Alonso founded Metropolitan Consultation Associates, Inc.
in 1981 to provide employee assistance programs (EAP's)
to local companies. The thrust of the EAP was to prevent
daily conflicts, at home or at work, from seriously affecting
emotional lives and work performance. While EAP's benefit
employees' emotional lives and increase the individual employee's
productivity, it became clear that it would be consultation
work with top management that would have the most overall
impact.
Dr.
Alonso's hispanic origin and bilingual ability provide an
essential perspective and understanding in dealing with
the hispanic culture.
Dr.
Alonso uses his twenty years' experience in the field of
executive coaching and leadership development to help create
organizations that are both human and financially successful.
