We believe
that it is the primary task of an organization's leaders
to develop and maintain a philosophy of management that
rests upon certain core principles

These principles include:
- A
belief that a balance between work and life is necessary
for individual and organizational success.
- A
belief that commitment and devotion to important, worthwhile
work is necessary for individual and organizational self-respect
and happiness.
- A
belief that human creative potential is the most important
organizational asset. A commitment to maximize employees'
creative contribution rather than to squelch employee
creativity.
- A
belief that honesty, knowing the factual truth, is beneficial
for the individual employees and the organization. The
opposite, a climate of uncertainty, distrust, and paranoia,
generates fear and destroys morale, creativity, and success.
- A
commitment to an employee selection and advancement process
that uses criteria designed to promote these principles.
- A
commitment to functional leadership, where a leader is
chosen for a particular job based on the needs of the
job and the skills of the leader.
- A
belief that in the ideal organization, what is beneficial
for the individual is beneficial for everyone in the organization.
The opposite, an organizational culture, where one's success
can only come at the expense of others, leads to organizational
failure.
We believe
that a commitment to these principles is necessary for enlightened
management. An organization's mission, vision, and strategies
based on these principles will go a long way toward achieving
synergy, where the goals
of the individual and the organization are one and the same.
We can
help senior management assess the degree to which these
principles are followed in the organization. We can help
understand why these principles are important and beneficial.
Where invited, we can help to facilitate the development
or strengthening of these principles.
